Leighton Alabama will come together this Saturday, June 10 for some great events. Beginning at 11:00 in the newly renovated Leighton Library with Summer Reading Sign-up and Kick-off and a book signing by Rickey Butch Walker author of Black Folktales of the Muscle Shoals. A special presentation by the author will take place at 1:00 in the library.

Beginning at 2:00 pm there will be music on Main Street to celebrate hometown music sensation Jimmy Hughes. Enjoy local food, art, and the newly completed mural by Missy Miles commemorating the music of Jimmy Hughes and Percy Sledge.  Bring a chair and enjoy music by The Midnighters, Deak Harp and Quicksand, Pat Jamar, and DJ J-Roc.
