SHOALS COMMUNITY CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY AT SPIRIT OF FREEDOM 2023

Singing River Media Group and the City of Florence hosted the 40th Annual Spirit of Freedom Celebration at McFarland Park on Independence Day.

The day began at 11 a.m. as local food trucks started opening up in the park. Throughout the day more visitors arrived to enjoy the food and hangout by the water.

At 4 p.m., Austin Bohannon kicked off the first performance of the night. He was followed by Taylor Grace, CONNR, and Grammy Award winner Gary Nichols. This year’s headliner was Boomtown Saints.

To finish off the night, fireworks were launched off of a barge on the Tennessee River.

This year’s celebration had one of the largest crowds it’s seen with over 30,000 people in attendance.
