Sweet Trails Alabama will be taking a statewide public tour from October 2-6, 2023. The Sweet Trails Alabama Swing Around the State Tour will start in Huntsville and Florence and kick off a year-long initiative to identify existing trails and locate possible new routes in all sixty-seven counties in Alabama.

They will be in Florence at the UNA Center for Learning and Professional Development on Monday, Oct 2 from 3-5pm. During this session, they will share their vision for connecting communities throughout Alabama and provide details about their mission to join existing trails and how it can create opportunities for people and businesses throughout our state.

Sweet Trails Alabama is a unique collaborative initiative that will identify local, regional, and statewide trail projects. This statewide trail route plan will identify possible routes, trail communities, outdoor recreation economy sites, and highlight how the Sweet Trails Alabama project can create new opportunities in health and wellness, tourism, economic development, entrepreneurial growth, quality of life, workforce development, community engagement, and natural resource conservation.
