Construction alters Pine Street routes

FLORENCE - There are some temporary changes on Pine Street due to construction of a downtown parking deck.

The changes will help workers bring in large materials for the project. Officials do not know how long the changes will be in effect, but the project is scheduled for completion by summer 2024.

Changes include:

-Northbound on Pine Street, starting at the Tennessee Street intersection the right lane is the only one open, and that will only take you to a right turn onto Mobile Street.

-Westbound on Mobile to Pine Street, you can only turn left onto Pine.

-Southbound on Pine Street, you must get in the right lane as you approach the Tennessee Street intersection.

-Westbound on Tombigbee Street, you cannot turn left onto Pine.

-Southbound on Pine, the right lane at the Tuscaloosa Street intersection is closed and since Tombigbee is closed, you must turn left or right at Tombigbee.

In addition, Pine Street between Mobile and Tombigbee streets is closed.
